Avala hotel is a magnificent building near the peak, and it has been recently renovated. The owner has been kind to us, and the hotel will open an open-air grill and bar. Also, guests can stay at the hotel at affordable prices.
Building of hotel Avala started in 1928. on demand of King Alexandar Karađorđević for the purposes of ministry of forestry & waterpower engineering of Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Structure was projected by famous Russian architect Viktor Lukomski who also projected Serbian royal palace, Serbian Orthodox Church patriarchate as if lot of other public buildings with great cultural and historic importance.
Lot of events of national importance are related with this building. One of them took a place here in 1929. year when the First Ski Championship in Kingdom of Yugoslavia was started from the todays parking lot. First Ski Championship of Serbia after World War II was also started from here.
